Ezicon Painting & Decorating provides plastering work in Brisbane for residential and commercial properties. Gyprock repairs, solid plaster work, ceiling and wall repairs, and patch-and-paint finishes. We carry out the plaster repair and the paint as a single job, so you are not coordinating two separate trades. QBCC licensed and fully insured.
Most plastering jobs we are called to are repairs rather than full-room work. A door handle through a plaster wall, a water-damaged ceiling section, a corner bead knocked in a hallway, or cracks that have opened up over time. These are common in Brisbane homes, particularly older houses with solid plaster walls.
The difference between a plaster repair that looks invisible and one that is obvious across the room comes down to preparation, the right filler or plaster mix for the substrate, the correct number of coats and proper sanding before paint. We do not blob filler over a hole and call it done.

Small holes and dings are filled and feathered. Larger sections are cut back to a clean edge and either patched or replaced.

Where joins are visible, we tape and apply setting compound in multiple coats, sanding between each, to achieve a flat, seamless surface.

Bare plaster and repaired sections absorb paint differently to the surrounding wall. Priming before the topcoat ensures an even finish.

If you have the paint colour, we use it. If not, we can advise on getting a match or, for larger scopes, quote repainting the full wall or room for a consistent result.
Older Brisbane homes, particularly those built before the 1960s, often have solid plaster walls: three-coat lime or gypsum-based systems applied over timber lath or masonry. These walls crack in different ways to Gyprock and repair them differently.
Solid plaster cracks often run with the building’s movement rather than as isolated damage. A patch repair that does not address the surrounding plaster or use compatible materials will crack again. We assess solid plaster repairs properly before quoting. If the substrate has a broader problem, we tell you.
We also carry out solid plaster work for heritage and period homes where matching the original finish is important.
Ceiling repairs are one of the most common jobs we handle. Water damage from a roof leak or an upstairs bathroom, cracked cornices, sagging sections and holes left by old ceiling roses or ducted air conditioning are all standard repair scopes.
Ceiling work is often more visible than wall work because natural light from windows and downlights hits it at a low angle. Any unevenness, ridges or texture differences show up clearly. We take ceiling repairs seriously and finish them to the same standard we finish walls.
Cornice repairs and replacements are included in our ceiling scope. If a section of cornice has separated, cracked or been damaged, we can repair or replace it and paint to match.
Most plaster repairs need painting when they are done. The patched section looks different to the surrounding wall and the repair work disturbs the existing paint film around the edges.
Rather than leave you with a freshly plastered section that does not match the rest of the room, we quote the patch-and-paint as a single scope. This includes the plaster repair, priming, and either a colour-matched spot coat or a full wall repaint if the surrounding surface is too worn to spot-match cleanly.
If you are repainting an interior room at the same time, see our interior painting.
